KOTA MADIUN (DinasPUPR) – Walikota Madiun, Maidi meresmikan dua proyek besar bernilai miliaran rupiah, Jumat (12/8). Dua proyek tersebut, yakni saluran jalan Mayjen Sungkono-Jalan Sriti dan Jalan Mayjen Sungkono-Jalan A. Yani.
Walikota mengatakan, dua proyek besar itu memiliki fungsi ganda. Selain mempercantik kota, juga pengendali banjir. Bahkan keberadaan pedestrian serupa terus dikerjakan di titik lain dikoneksikan dengan pedestrian sebelumnya.
“Jadi pejalan kaki yang ingin jalan-jalan di tengah kota ini akan aman. Biar kota ini tidak padat kendaraan ya kita buatkan pedestrian, padahal di bawahnya ini saluran,” ujarnya.
Kepala DPUPR, Suwarno mengungkapkan, dua proyek itu memiliki panjang sekitar 853 meter. Dari Mayjend Sungkono hingga Jalan Ahmad Yani. Selain fungsi pedestrian, lokasi itu bisa dimanfaatkan untuk pemberdayaan UMKM khususnya yang menggunakan kontainer di sejumlah titik yang ditentukan hingga sebagai upaya pengendali banjir.
“Fungsi utama adalah pengendali banjir, dan diatas saluran ini ada pedestrian sekaligus dilengkapi kontainer UMKM di titik-titik tertentu,” katanya.
Suwarno menyatakan, tidak hanya membangun pedestriannya saja, melainkan DPUPR juga memiliki tugas untuk melengkapinya dengan lampu penerangan. Ia mengklaim pengerjaan proyek tersebut on schedule¸bahkan selesai lebih cepat dari target. Percepatan itu dilakukan semata-mata agar kemanfaatkan proyek fisik yang dibangun pemkot segera bisa dirasakan masyarakat.
“Ini selesainya malah lebih cepat dari yang kita targetkan, makanya hari ini diresmikan,” tambahnya.
Seperti diketahui, proyek pembangunan saluran di jalan Mayjen Sungkono-Jalan Sriti dikerjakan CV Portalraya dengan nilai kontrak Rp2,9 Miliar. Sedangkan pembangunan saluran jalan Mayjen Sungkono-Ahmad Yani dikerjakan CV Sarana Karya Manungunggal dengan nilai kontrak Rp1,8 miliar. (*)
