KOTA MADIUN (DinasPUPR) – Petugas Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Penataan Ruang (DPUPR) dibantu BPBD melakukan pembersihan di sejumlah titik saluran, dan sungai di wilayah setempat, Kamis (11/1). Kegiatan itu bertujuan untuk meminimalisasi banjir, apalagi di musim penghujan seperti saat ini.
Kepala DPUPR Kota Madiun, Thariq Megah mengatakan, di saluran air, Jalan Anggrek, Kelurahan Oro-Oro Ombo, petugas menemukan banyak tumpukan sampah sisa limbah rumah tangga.
Bahkan, tumpukan sampah menyumbat saluran air. Jika tidak segera dibersihkan, ia khawatir dapat memicu banjir, karena aliran air tidak lancar.
“Di Jalan Anggrek ini ada penyumbatan dari sampah rumah tangga. Di sini kami temukan ada kasur, guling, ada juga sampah yang nyangkut disini,” ujarnya.
Thariq menghimbu kepada warga untuk tidak membuang sampah di sungai. Masyarakat juga diminta segera melaporkan ke petugas jika ada lokasi penyumbatan saluran air.
“Jadi kita libatkan tim 27, tim 9 dan tim penanganan saluran ada 10 orang, untuk melakukan pembersihan sungai dan saluran guna mengantisipasi banjir di wilayah kota ini,” tuturnya.
Tidak hanya pembersihan sampah, petugas DPUPR juga secara berkala melakukan pengerukan sedimen di sepanjang sungai wilayah Kota Madiun. Disatu sisi, mulai hulu sampai hilir juga akan diidentifikasi, sehingga ketika terjadi permasalahan segera dapat dilakukan tindakan.
“Jadi identifikasi yang kita lakukan selain melalui pengamatan langsung, juga melalui drone,” tandasnya. (*)
