KOTA MADIUN (DinasPUPR) – Masjid Raudhatul Jannah yang berada di kawasan Pondok Lansia Kota Madiun telah diresmikan Walikota Madiun, Dr. Maidi. Peresmian dilakukan bersamaan dengan kegiatan salat Jum’at dan doa bersama di proyek yang digarap Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Penataan Ruang (DPUPR) Kota Madiun tersebut, Jum’at (15/12).
‘’Target yang saya impikan akhirnya tercapai. Alhamdulillah, proyek yang masuk dalam skala prioritas ini sudah jadi. Hasilnya bagus,’’ kata walikota usai peresmian.
Selain meresmikan masjid, di hari yang sama walikota juga meresmikan Pondok Lansia Jalan Menuju Surga. Saat ini kedua bangunan itu sudah beroperasi.
Pun sudah ada lansia yang telah menempati asrama. Lansia yang menempati adalah mereka yang non-potensial atau ngebrok dengan status warga kurang mampu.
Menurut walikota, pembangunan Pondok Lansia sebagai upaya pemkot meningkatkan angka harapan hidup (AHH) di Kota Madiun. Artinya, mereka yang sudah masuk usia senja dirawat pemkot agar umur mereka semakin panjang. Pada 2022 lalu, AHH di Kota Pendekar mencapai 72,75 tahun.
“Target AHH ke depan harus mencapai 80 tahun. Sehingga kebutuhan hidup lansia harus dipikirkan dari sekarang,’’ harapnya.
Dia menambahkan, peresmian Pondok Lansia Jalan Menuju Surga dan Masjid Raudhatul Jannah juga diirngi dengan prosesi pembagian sejumlah bantuan sosial (bansos). Yakni, bantuan bagi kebutuhan 98 tempat ibadah dan bantuan sembako bagi warga setempat. (*)
