KOTA MADIUN (DinasPUPR) – Pembangunan replika Patung Liberty di kawasan Pahlawan Street Center (PSC) segera rampung. Sampai dengan kemarin (29/11), pengerjaan replika patung Liberty setinggi 16,75 meter itu sudah mencapai 99,52 persen.
“Dalam waktu dekat ini, pembangunan replika Patung Liberty harus sudah selesai,” kata Kabid Cipta Karya Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Penataan Ruang (DPUPR) Kota Madiun Hesti Setyorini, Kamis (30/11).
Menurutnya, progres pengerjaan patung yang menyimbolkan kebebasan itu mengalami percepatan 9,17 persen dari target rencana semula 90,35 persen. Saat ini, patung yang pembangunannya menelan anggaran Rp 198 juta tersebut tinggal merampungkan proses pengecatan.
‘’Sebenarnya, tutup kontrak pada 8 Desember mendatang. Tapi, pihak rekanan sanggup menyelesaikannya lebih cepat,’’ ujarnya.
Hesti menjelaskan, eberadaan patung itu dapat menambah wahana wisata di kawasan Pahlawan Street Center. Pun juga melengkapi replika enam negara yang sudah dibangun sebelumnya.
Seperti diketahui, patung tersebut dicat warna hijau layaknya patung aslinya. Sedangkan, ompaknya dicat coklat muda. Sementara dalam proses pengukiran bentuk wajah patung, dinasnya menggandeng seniman dari Ponorogo. (*)
