KOTA MADIUN (DinasPUPR) – Kota Madiun kembali memiliki ikon dunia. Kali ini adalah miniatur menara jam Big Ben Inggris.
Kepala Bidang Cipta Karya DPUPR Kota Madiun, Sulistya Pambudi mengatakan, pembangunannya saat ini sudah dimulai. Bahkan on progres sesuai schedule yang ditetapkan.
Menurut Uut sapaan akrabnya, kerangka menara yang berada di kawasan wisata Sumber Umis barat itu sudah berdiri tegak. Pembangunannya satu paket dengan penyempurnaan Pahlawan Religi Center (PRC).
‘’Pembangunan miniatur jam big ben sudah kita mulai dan Alhamdulillah on progres,”ujarnya, Senin (14/8).
Uut menyatakan, setelah pemasangan kerangka menara, dilanjutkan untuk bodinya. Menara jam Big Ben Inggris tersebut akan memiliki tinggi 12 meter.
Menara bagian bawah berbentuk persegi dengan panjang sisi 1,8 meter. Desain menara dibuat mirip dengan aslinya di Inggris.
‘’Sesuai arahan pak walikota, pembangunan menara untuk disegerakan. Karenanya, sambil mengerjakan yang pembangunan lapak di samping Musala Ka’bah, kita juga mulai mengerjakan untuk menara,’’ tuturnya.
Uut menambahkan anggaran pekerjaan tersebut mencapai Rp 3 miliar. Semua pekerjaan ditarget selesai Oktober nanti.
Keberadaan menara tersebut semakin melengkapi ikon dunia di Kota Madiun yang saat ini ada. Yaitu replika Patung Merlion Singapura yang diresmikan pada Desember 2020 lalu.
Kemudian Musala Ka’bah Saudi Arabia dan Kampung serta Jembatan Eropa pada 2021, Menara Eiffel Perancis dan lokomotif Shinkansen Jepang pada 2022. Sedangkan tahun ini, Pemkot kembali menghadirkan ikon menara Jam Big Ben Inggris dan juga Kincir Angin Belanda.
Selain itu, ada juga miniatur Monumen Nasional (Monas) yang rencananya dibangun di Alun-alun. Bahkan, ada wacana penambahan ikon Patung Liberty dan Piramida.
‘’Menara jam big ben ini lokasinya di baratnya menara Eiffel. Tetapi bedanya, bukan di atas sungai. Tetapi di sisi utara sungai. Jadi di bagian pedestrian itu,’’ pungkasnya. (*)
