KBRN, Madiun: Pasar Kawak Kota Madiun kini kian menawan. Itu setelah Walikota Madiun, Maidi meresmikan proyek, setelah direhab oleh Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Penataan Ruang (DPUPR).
Peresmian bangunan Pasar Kawak ditandai dengan pemotongan tumpeng oleh Walikota, Maidi, Jum’at (29/12). Peresmian itu pun juga dihadiri perwakilan pedagang pasar yang akan menempati bangunan baru itu.
Walikota Madiun, Maidi mengaku terkesan dengan bangunan Pasar Kawak usai direhab. Kini, pasar Kawak yang berlokasi di Jalan Kutai, selatan Alun-Alun Kota Madiun itu lebih layak ditempati pedagang.
“Bangunan ini sudah bagus, tapi pesan saya bangunan ini harus dijaga. Kalau ada temannya yang dagangannya laris, ramai, tolong tanya, kenapa kok bisa ramai. Ilmu dagang itu harus dibagi,” ujarnya.
Hanya saja yang menjadi catatannya, di lokasi Pasar Kawak dibutuhkan alat pendingin seperti kipas angin agar pedagang dan pengunjung semakin betah. Berdasarkan kalkulasinya, kemungkinan membutuhkan lima unit.
“Biar semua yang datang kesini itu nyaman,” katanya.
Maidi meyakini, Pasar Kawak yang kini memiliki wajah baru, kedepan semakin ramai dan diminati masyarakat. Apalagi lokasinya cukup strategis di tengah kota, serta berdekatan dengan wisata kuliner Bogowonto Culinary Center (BCC). (*)
