KOTA MADIUN (DinasPUPR) – Pemkot Madiun menyelenggarakan senam lansia, Jum’at (15/12). Bedanya senam lansia kali ini dilaksanakan di kawasan pondok lansia sekaligus diresmikan Walikota, Maidi.
Para lansia yang mengenakan seragam khas, tampak bersemangat karena sekaligus mencoba asrama baru tersebut. Asrama yang dibangun Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Penataan Ruang (DPUPR) itu tampak asri dan nyaman ditempati lansia ngebrok.
‘’Hari ini senam sekaligus meresmikan pondok lansia. Tempat ini nanti jadi pusatnya kegiatan mereka-mereka ini,’’ kata walikota.
Ia menambahkan, senam lansia rutin diselenggarakan Pemkot. Tujuannya di usia tua harus tetap sehat.
“Caranya, tubuh ya harus sering digerakkan dengan senam ini,” katanya.
Selain itu, lansia juga harus dibuat senang dan tenang. Walikota berharap hadirnya pondok lansia bisa membuat lansia bahagia.
Sebab, tempat tersebut akan menjadi pusat kegiatan lansia. Mulai cek kesehatan hingga tempat berkegiatan agar lansia tetap produktif.
‘’Di Kota Madiun, lansia jangan sampai ditelantarkan. Lansia akan kita perhatikan melalui pondok lansia ini,’’ imbuh walikota.
Pemerintah Kota Madiun di bawah kepemimpinan Dr. Maidi serius memperhatian lansia. Mulai urusan kesehatan hingga tempat bernaung.
Tidak hanya itu, bagi lansia yang tidak produktif atau lansia ngebrok diberikan bantuan Rp8,2 juta setahun. Selain itu, walikota juga kerap membagikan Sembako dan bantuan lainnya. (*)
