KOTA MADIUN (DinasPUPR) – Pedestrian di tengah Kota Madiun tahun ini akan tersambung. Ini setelah Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Penataan Ruang (DPUPR) mulai mengerjakan pembangunan trotoar di Jalan dr. Soetomo sisi barat. Konsep pembangunannya sama seperti pedestrian yang dibangun di sepanjang Jalan Panglima Sudirman (Pangsud) depan Pasar Besar Madiun (PBM).
Kabid Bina Marga DPUPR Kota Madiun, Thariq Megah mengatakan, saat ini prosesnya mulai dilakukan pembongkaran trotoar lama. Pekerjaan trotoar, nantinya dimulai dari simpang tiga Jalan Panglima Sudirman hingga Jalan Jawa.
“Ini pekerjaannya yang sisi barat dulu, dari pertigaan Jalan Pangsud sampai Jalan Jawa. Jadi nanti trotoar itu nyambung dengan trotoar yang ada di Pahlawan Street Center (PSC),” ujarnya, Rabu (8/3).
Rencananya, pembangunan trotoar tersebut sepanjang 800 meter. Lebar mencapai 3,5 meter dengan tinggi 25-30 sentimeter dari permukaan jalan dengan anggaran sekitar Rp3,5 miliar.
“Target selesai dalam lima bulan, tapi kita upayakan Juli sudah selesai,” tambahnya.
Thariq menegaskan selain sudah masuk dalam perencanaan, kondisi trotoar di Jalan dr Seotomo butuh perbaikan. Rencana itu pun telah melalui sejumlah kajian dari berbagai aspek yang mengacu penataan kota berbasis Wahana Tata Nugraha. Lebar badan jalan yang trotoarnya ditata diklaim masih layak.
