KOTA MADIUN (DinasPUPR) – Penertiban kabel utilitas udara di Kota Madiun hingga saat ini terus berlanjut. Tidak hanya di tengan kota, kini mulai menyasar di pinggiran kota, seperti halnya di Jalan Slamet Riyadi.
Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Penataan Ruang (DPUPR) setempat menggali sebagian aspal di ruas jalan tersebut. Ini dilakukan karena kabel udara akan ditanam di bawah tanah dengan sistem ducting agar tidak terkesan semrawut.
“Yang jelas program penataan kota ini akan terus kita lakukan biar kota ini indah, kabelnya tidak semrawut. Ya kita terapkan sistem ducting,” ujar Kepala Bidang Bina Marga DPUPR, Thariq Megah, Senin (20/2).
Menurut dia, keberadaan tiang dan kabel semrawut tidak linier dengan program pemkot dalam mempercantik wajah kota. Sehingga, pemindahan mendesak dilakukan. Pun, sejatinya telah disepakati bersama Asosiasi Penyelenggara Jaringan Telekomunikasi (Apjatel).
“Kami minta kesediaan dan dukungan dari provider, agar proses ini cepat selesai,” tambahnya.
Sementara, Jhon Jeffri, project manager rekanan yang menggarap ducting ini menambahkan, bakal menggali jalan sepanjang 30 kilometer di 33 ruas jalan Kota Madiun. Galian tersebut sebagai wadah instalasi kabel utilitas udara. Ia menargetkan, pekerjaan tersebut tuntas dalam waktu enam bulan kedepan.
‘’Sementara kami targetkan menggali sepanjang 100 hingga 150 meter dulu per hari,’’ pungkasnya. (*)
