KOTA MADIUN (DinasPUPR) – Petugas Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Penataan Ruang (DPUPR) bersama petugas BPBD melakukan pembersihan sampah yang menumpuk di Kali Piring, Kelurahan Pilangbango, Rabu (18/1). Kegiatan itu dilakukan untuk mengatasi persoalan banjir.
“Kita siapkan dump truk sama alat berat excavator untuk membersihkan sampah yang menyangkut di jembatan Bok Malang,” kata Kabid Pengelolaan Sumber Daya Air (PSDA) DPUPR, Suyanto.
Ia menyatakan, sampah-sampah yang menyangkut di jembatan pun cukup banyak. Mayoritas bambrongan bambu, pohon pisang yang hanyut maupun sampah plastik. Sampah-sampah tersebut selanjutnya dibuang ke TPA Winongo.
“Kita targetkan pembersihan ini sehari tuntas,” ujarnya.
Setidaknya ada 15 personel DPUPR yang dikerahkan untuk membantu petugas BPBD. Apalagi debit air di Kali Piring sempat mengalami peningkatan pada Selasa malam (17/1). Jika sampah yang menumpuk itu tidak segera dibersihkan, dikhawatirkan akan menyumbat aliran air sehingga bisa meluber ke jalan raya maupun ke pemukiman warga.
“Saya menghimbau masyarakat untuk tidak membuang sampah di sungai sebab jika menyumbat alira air, bisa mengakibatkan banjir,” ungkapnya.
Suyanto menegaskan, pembersihan sampah di Kali Piring rutin dilakukan petugas, apalagi saat debit air meningkat. Sampah-sampah tersebut bukan hanya berasal dari kota, melainkan sampah yang hanyut terbawa derasnya air dari wilayah hulu sungai. (*)
