KOTA MADIUN (DinasPUPR) – Pemkot Madiun membongkar gapura jpintu masuk Jalan Margobawero sisi utara. Pembongkaran itu dilakukan menggunakan alat berat milik Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Penataan Ruang (DPUPR). Bukan tanpa alasan, melainkan pemkot berencana melebarkan akses jalan agar bus wisata seperti Mabour milik Pemkot Madiun dapat melewati lokasi tersebut dengan mudah.
Walikota Madiun, Maidi mengatakan, lokasi tersebut dinilai sangat sempit saat dua kendaraan roda empat lewat berpapasan. Jika gapura itu tidak segera dibongkar, kata Maidi menganggu kenyamanan pengendara dan berpotensi rawan kecelakaan.
Apalagi nantinya, jalan itu digunakan sebagai rute bus wisata yang akan terkoneksi dengan lapak-lapak UMKM yang ada di beberapa kelurahan. Mulai dari Lapak Mojorejo yang berada di lapangan Margobawero dikoneksikan dengan lapak Pagu Indah di Kelurahan Manisrejo, lapak Banjarejo, lapak Pandean di simpang lima bunderan, dan ke Ngrowo Bening Edu Park.
“Gapura Margobawero itu menjadi rute bus wisata. Karena gapura itu menghalangi, maka kita bongkar. Kemudian timurnya saya cor, biar jalannya lebar,” ujarnya, Kamis (12/1).
Dengan jalan yang lebar, lanjut Maidi, menjadikan akses menuju Lapak Kelurahan Mojorejo akan semakin mudah. Apalagi saat ini aktifitas ekonomi di wilayah tersebut sudah cukup ramai.
Selain menjadi rute bus wisata, lanjutnya, lokasi itu rencananya juga dijadikan sebagai rute sepeda wisata 15 kilometer. Pengerjaannya pun dilakukan tahun ini agar manfaatnya segera dapat dirasakan oleh masyarakat. (*)
