KOTA MADIUN (DinasPUPR) – Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Penataan Ruang (DPUPR) Kota Madiun menggandeng Kementerian Agama (Kemenag) setempat melakukan pengukuran arah kiblat untuk persiapan pembangunan masjid di Pondok Lansia, kawasan Lapak Bumi Semendung, Senin (3/7). Pengukuran arah kiblat juga disaksikan pihak pelaksana proyek dan Kejaksaan Negeri (Kejari) Kota Madiun.
Kepala KUA Taman mewakili Kemenag, Pujianto mengatakan, pengukuran arah kiblat mutlak dilakukan ketika hendak membangun masjid. Sebaliknya, ketika arah kiblat ditentukan usai masjid selesai dibangun, dikhawatirkan melenceng.
“Kalau masjidnya sudah dibangun, baru ditentukan (arah kiblatnya.red), bisa-bisa melenceng tidak karuan,” katanya.
Cara penentuan arah kiblat, lanjutnya, harus ditentukan dulu arah utara dan selatan. Selanjutnya menentukan arah barat.
“Berhubung Makah ada di garis lintang utara, sedangkan Madiun berada di lintang selatan, maka ya harus menentukan titiknya di Madiun,” ujarnya.
Pujianto menjelaskan berdasarkan hasil pengukurannya, untuk titik arah kiblatnya 23,2 derajat dari titik barat. Adapun alat ukur yang digunakan di antaranya busur, kompas, dan waterpass.
“Insya Allah ini nanti sudah pasti arah kiblatnya,” tambahnya.
Untuk penandanya, pihaknya memberikan patokan besi di sebelah barat dan timur. Pun nantinya tinggal menarik benang agar siku bangunannya sesuai.
Dia menegaskan, untuk proses pembangunan masjidnya, Kemenag tidak memiliki kewenangan untuk ikut mengawasi. Hanya saja untuk kegiatan yang dilakukan di masjid, Kemenag setempat bersama MUI dan stakeholder terkait akan turut melakukan pengawasan.
“Jadi nanti mengurus ID-nya di Kemenag untuk proses kegiatan-kegiatan di dalam masjid,” pungkasnya. (*)
